Fokus Osteuropa

Am 9. und 10. Oktober 2025 findet am Osteuropa-Institut Berlin die interdisziplinäre Nachwuchskonferenz Beyond Empires – Fokus Osteuropa statt. Die zweitägige Veranstaltung widmet sich der Analyse historischer und gegenwärtiger imperialer Strukturen in Osteuropa und beleuchtet deren Auswirkungen auf Politik, Gesellschaft und Kultur.

In Vorträgen, Panels und Workshops werden junge Wissenschaftler*innen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen mit externen Expert:innen aus Journalismus, Politik, Wissenschaft und Zivilgesellschaft zusammengebracht. Ziel ist es, Perspektiven jenseits etablierter Narrative zu entwickeln und Raum für neue Forschungsansätze und kritische Diskussionen zu schaffen.

Verpflegung & Organisation vor Ort

•  An beiden Tagen wird ein vegetarisches Catering zur Mittagspause angeboten, inklusive Kaffee und Snacks.
• Die Räume werden vor Ort am Tag selbst ausgeschildert
• Foto- und Filmaufnahmen durch Teilnehmende sind untersagt.
  • Die Konferenz selbst wird vom Organisationsteam aufgezeichnet.
  • Es besteht die Möglichkeit, nicht auf Fotos oder Videos zu erscheinen. Nähere Informationen hierzu erhalten Sie bei der Registrierung vor Ort.

On October 9 and 10, 2025, the interdisciplinary early-career conference Beyond Empires – Focus on Eastern Europe will take place at the Berlin Institute for Eastern European Studies. The two-day event is dedicated to analyzing historical and contemporary imperial structures in Eastern Europe and examining their impact on politics, society, and culture.

Through lectures, panels, and workshops, young researchers from various disciplines will be brought together with external experts from journalism, politics, academia, and civil society. The goal is to develop perspectives beyond established narratives and to create space for new research approaches and critical discussions.

Catering & On-Site Organization

• Vegetarian catering, including coffee and snacks, will be provided during the lunch break on both days.
• Rooms will be signposted on-site on the day of the event.
• Photo and video recordings by participants are prohibited.
  • The conference itself will be recorded by the organizing team.
  • It is possible to opt out of appearing in photos or videos. Further information will be provided during on-site registration.
